What is Peace & Photojournalism?

Peace & Photojournalism is the working title I gave to a project that began in April, 2011. That month saw the death of photojournalists Chris Hondros and Tim Hetherington while they were covering the Syrian conflict. I did not know these men but I knew and admired their work. The loss affected me.

I began to wonder about the point of all this conflict imagery. I began to wonder if their wasn't some under-utilized avenue of photojournalism that could advocate for peace. And with that I began.
