Mark Mirko is a Connecticut-based photojournalist and photography editor. He has produced two books, "Passing Time", a photographic meditation on life and death in his family, and "The Year We Made Eye Contact," a compilation of photographs and essays by Hartford Courant staff photographers.

Mark has a Master of Arts Degree in Photography from the Ohio University School of Visual Communication where he completed a John S. Knight Fellowship. He has been a guest speaker at numerous colleges and universities including Western Kentucky University, Ohio University, Trinity College and San Francisco State University.

Mark works a Deputy Visuals Director at Connecticut Public/WNPR and prior to that worked in print at The Hartford Courant, The Palm Beach Post and Prognosis, an English-language newspaper in Prague.
