Passing Time

Passing Time is a photographic meditation comprised of 17 diptychs from two days of death and birth in my family.
In the spring of 2008, my wife, Stephanie, gave birth to our second child, Alice. That fall we euthanized our 11-year-old dog, Woofie.
I photographed these two days as part of my family's visual record.
The images were not made with any specific presentation in mind; rather, they were made because each experience was something I wanted to remember and share.
